Director
As the founding company director, Alex has overseen the growth of the business from its inception in 1998 to where it is today. Alex was originally trained as an engineer before moving into the construction space, initially with John Holland but following on to establish Douglas Construction & Engineering. His problem-solving and technical expertise have built him a strong reputation in the industry and helped establish Douglas Construction and Engineering as a leading industrial D&C contractor.
Manish Jaiswal
General Manager - Construction
Manish has overseen the review and implementation of robust systems to support the growth of the business. He has a strong focus on the operational aspects, with oversight of all project delivery teams. In conjunction with the company director and other senior management, Manish also plays a guiding role in the overall leadership and strategy development of the business.
Mark Falconer
Preconstruction & Sustainability Manager
With over 15 years of previous experience as an architect, Mark initially joined DCE in 2019 as a design co-ordinator and now oversees most of the preconstruction aspects in the business from early cost and site planning, through to tenders and then eventually the design development and management of the approvals.
The internal design capacity and tight integration between the estimating and subsequent design development processes have given DCE a strong competitive advantage. We are able to work collaboratively with our clients on early design improvements and value engineering to deliver high-quality industrial assets.

Francois Van Der Merwe
Financial Controller
With extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in handling and managing project accounting, Francois is responsible for overseeing the full financial functions within Douglas Construction & Engineering and related entities, providing management with the tools to meet growth targets and assisting with the execution of team-driven process improvements to maximise growth, operational efficiency & profitability.

Declan Tobin
Senior Project Manager
Our longest standing employee, Declan has been a Project Manager at Douglas Construction & Engineering for over 18 years. He has developed a reputation for getting things done and has over the years successfully delivered a vast range of projects from simple alterations to large complex institutional grade industrial buildings with onerous tenant requirements.
Dustin Park
Project Manager
Coming from a civil background, Dustin enrolled Masters Construction Practice in 2017 before starting at Douglas Construction Engineering in 2018 as a contracts administrator. The combination of his strong technical platform from his previous civil experience and commercial acumen developed through his role his senior paralegal has equipped him to mange both the practical on site elements and the commercial aspects of his role as project manager.
Ray o'Neill
Site Manager
Ray is an experienced Site manager who has been with Douglas Construction & Engineering from 2016. Since starting with the company, Ray has shown exceptionally strong leadership skills and a strong ability work well with all people on his site whilst adhering to tight schedules. He is a strong team player and is well respected by his peers and subcontractors alike. Prior to coming onboard with Douglas, Ray worked for another D&C contractor. He has also run his own company working on construction and residential projects and tilt panel projects.
Reshen Pillay
Design Co-ordinator
Reshen is an experienced architectural technologist with a keen interest and aptitude for implementation of BIM best practices. Prior to joining DCE in 2021, he had over 10 years local experience at an architectural practice as well as extensive experience in Ireland and South Africa. Reshen looks after the coordination of external consultants design information, document control oversight and management of the required approvals to keep works on site running smoothly.

Yang Li
Estimator
Yang joined as our estimator earlier in 2022. He holds a degree in both Economics and Quantity surveying and has had previous local construction experience with contractors and some specialist subcontractors.
Jacques Vever
ESD Consultant
Jacques joined our team to assist us in refining our environmental sustainability strategy and assist with the increased volume of Greenstar projects. He has extensive experience across a range of sustainability certification schemes and works with us, our consultants and our site teams to proactively manage and iterative reduce our environmental impact.
Alex Easterby
HSEQ Co-ordinator
Alexander has a broad range of experience and knowledge in the construction industry ranging from hands on Site Management to Health, Safety and Environmental Management and Quality compliance aspects. Alexander specialises in digital HSEQ implementation and ISO accreditation systems in which he successfully transfers companies across from paper-based HSEQ systems to a fully performing digitised system.
Jared Grant
Commercial Contract Manager
Jared has extensive knowledge in the construction industry, providing leadership to the junior team members. Jared joined Douglas Construction & Engineering in 2022 as a senior contracts administrator and his expertise was well regarded which moved Jared into the role of Commercial Contract Manager. Jared has been at the forefront of multiple multi-million dollar projects and has played an integral role for the full commercial aspect of the project including head contract negotiation and administration, procurement, subcontract negotiation and administration, cost control and reporting. Jared is highly experienced in drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions, ensuring adherence to executed contracts. Jared is driven and dedicated to providing outstanding results for the client.

Mitchell is our dynamic Site Foreman who joined the Douglas Construction & Engineering team in 2023, establishing himself as an indispensable asset to our operations. With an innate ability to adapt to the fast-paced demands of an ever-evolving construction site, Mitchell navigates challenges with ease and efficiency. Mitchell takes charge of ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, prioritising the wellbeing of our team, and maintaining a safe working environment. With over 20 years of experience, he possesses a profound understanding of client and contractor needs, offering balanced solutions throughout the project lifecycle. Previously serving in various managerial roles within industry associations and training institutes, Dean brings a wealth of expertise to Douglas Construction.
